089. Results Matter, everything else is just fluff.

We always say that its about the little wins that make you 1% better. People tend to quit when things become monotonous and that is when you should dig in deeper to master the craft so that you can't mess up. Micheal Jordan always started his warmups with chest a passes, then went through his sequence. The consistency of those chest passes and urge to become the best is when led to Micheal being the BEST in the league without a doubt. We take the same approach at Dawson. Kyle with powder coating, it becomes monotonous but he know that once he masters it, he can then become the teacher for it one day and help take over new roles to push Dawson to a new level. Nick with the MulchMate DS1000. This machine is THE BEST without a doubt when it comes to bulk material distribution. There are a few things we want to master with it then we move to other machines and ideas! 
 
Focus on the results they will arrive but enjoy the journey in the process.

088. Cocky vs Confidence, Nick you are so eccentric!!

Many people when they see someone that is experiencing the success they wish they had, it is very easy to see that individual as cocky when in reality most people are just confident. When it comes to landscaping and bulk material dispensing with the MulchMate, Nick is the KING without a doubt. He comes off as cocky to some because of their perspective and exposure YouTube doesn't always give the best light because of how you try to entertain people same with Instagram which if you haven't already FOLLOW US we greatly appreciate it! Once you get to know him, he isn't the one tooting his own horn the MulchMate is for him, the testimonials of thousands of units in the field are as well.

087. Nick and Kyle disagree on curiosity?!

Nick and Kyle talk about a line from a recent podcast listen, "The more you use curiosity, the more you will be curious". Curiosity is like a muscle the less you use it the more it atrophies away. Now, there is a saying that Nick sides with, "Curiosity kills the cat". By his stories, we can see why Nick feels as if curiosity can lead to problems. However, his risk calculation of that curiosity was misled by peer pressure. With proper risk calculation we can see what curiosity can lead too. A short little banger between Nick and Kyle about the products and their release. Lets take a look at Tesla for a second. When they released the first car, it was the most decked out luxury electric car on the market. The most recent released model is the model 3 the cheapest most base model they offer. Playing human phycology for a moment, we released our most capable product to market first and slowly creeped down on price so that we can introduce our clients to the MulchMate way. Guys who can't afford a MulchMate can afford the KartMate, SnowMate.

The MulchMule is the closest relative to the MulchMate and even at one point tried to sell the product to Nick. The capacity that MulchMate can handle between with the materials thrown at it and the ability to go on any truck on the market makes the MulchMate the ideal choice. After the worldwide pandemic MulchMate now is released on trailer platforms as well the DMT.

084. Why I built it the way I built it! (Part 1)

Nick and Kyle dive into why Dawson Manufacturing was built the way it is and how. We talk about the layout out the company mainly in this episode. There is a flow in the building that keeps the parts hot, or simply put, keeps parts in motion. Resting parts cost money, time and lead to mistakes. The way things work is parts come in and go one of two places; Fabrication to be welded then the powder booth, or straight to the powder coating booth. From there parts go to assembly to be created and head out the door. 
Failing faster is the key to Dawson Manufacturing success. We discuss the timer that is in the MulchMate otherwise known as the Stupid Employee Protection Device. The Boomerangs that we ultimately ditched on the KartMates after the first generation and much more! Stick around to hear some cool tidbits at the end.

083. What would Zappos Do??

We at Dawson Manufacturing pride ourselves in how much we take care of our customers. We literally go leaps and bounds to be sure if a machine is down, we overnight a part to them to their door so that it can be up and running that day. Craig and Nick have spent countless hours on flights to customers to take care of issues or resolve what is going on with a machine, find the problem and fix it on the spot. Just this week Kyle went to a college with a TruckMate HD on it, swapped it with the Demo MulchMate truck so that they can finish mulch come the time of Graduation. What would Zappos do? Well we do everything humanly possible to help our humans in the field and on our team.

082. Reboot Time! Nick's trip to Utah.

Nick talks about his recent trip to Utah with his family as his first vacation is 2-3 years. Many people take vacations to reject reality for some time. When Nick and his family go. he took time to enjoy the landscape, nature and what all is going on around him that is different from Maryland. The team back at home kick into high gear getting repairs and machines out the door. Its a pretty cool feeling when the machine works without you!
